  • All panel members present at National Festival should participate.

Additional Notes

This is a County Event. There are no Regional or Provincial Finals in this event. Two teams per age group may qualify from County to National.

  1. Topics:
    • U11: “Nature and wildlife in my locality”
      • Present a project about the nature and wildlife based in your local town, village, or city.
      • Include information on local plants (flowers, trees, etc.), natural features (lakes, rivers, forests, mountains), and animals/insects in the area.
      • Use any additional points, information, and images to showcase your locality's nature and wildlife.
    • U13: “Ireland in the past”
      • Present a project about a specific time period or event in Irish history.
      • Include details on what happened, when and where it occurred, who was involved, and its impact on life today.
      • Use any additional points, information, and images to illustrate the chosen time period.
  2. Two area teams for each age group may be entered from each county.
  3. Projects may be supported in their presentation by any suitable means.
  4. Maximum exhibition space is 2m high by 2m wide (or as available). A table of 61cm by 61cm may be used. Floor space must not be used for exhibits. Marks will be deducted for oversized exhibits.
  5. During judging, a team must be represented by a minimum of two members of the panel. Teams will be given a maximum of 10 minutes each to present.
  6. Judging Criteria:
    • Research – range, depth & quality: 30 Marks
    • Originality – unique approach: 20 Marks
    • Presentation – quality of presentation: 20 Marks
    • Knowledge of topic: 30 Marks
