Cairn Community Games National Finals 2026 brought together thousands of young people, families, volunteers and supporters from every corner of Ireland to celebrate sport, culture and community. Held across multiple venues, the Finals showcased the very best of youth participation, determination and talent, with approximately 8,600 young participants proudly representing their local areas and counties in a wide range of sporting and cultural activities including:

• May Finals 2026 - Basketball, X Rugby 7s, Indoor Soccer, Handball, Badminton, Futsal, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Cycling on Grass, 5K, Cross Country and Mixed Distance Relay.
• July Finals 2026 – Swimming (Individual& Squad), Chess, Draughts, Quiz and Gymnastics.
• Regional Track Athletics Finals & National Pitch & Putt Finals 2026 – Track Athletics & Pitch & Putt (Individual & Team).
• National Track, Field & Outdoor Teams Finals 2026 - Athletics Track, Hurdles, Relay, Long Puck, Ball Throw, Javelin, High Jump, Long jump, Shot Putt, Discus, Rounders, Throwball Rounders, Soccer, Soccer 7-a-side. Camogie, Hurling, Gaelic Football and Tag Rugby
  
• National Arts & Culture Finals 2026 - Art, Singing, Dance, Choir, Handwriting, Model Making, Projects, Music, Drama/Comedy, Debating, Culture Corner, and Skittles

From the excitement of athletics & team sports to the precision of chess & the creativity of model making, the ethos of Cairn Community Games is constantly showcased - participation, friendship, respect and community spirit.

Cairn Community Games Friendship Tent played a huge role in our National Finals, given children from all over Ireland a place to meet, relax and get creative together. Children made potions, drew pictures, created friendship bracelets and took part in a wide range of fun activities throughout the weekend. The tent captured much of what the Games is about, bringing children together from different counties and communities and giving them the chance to make new friends.
