​4,000 children take part in Aldi Community Games Virtual Events

4,000 children from all over Ireland took part in the Aldi Community Games Virtual Events this year.   A new Aldi Community Games platform was launched in March 2021 so that parents could register their children for 7 fun and varied Community Games events – Art, Handwriting, Model-making, Dance, Singing, Music and Recitation in several different age groups.
 
The event was a great opportunity to reach children of all abilities and was aimed at boys and girls aged between 6 and 16 years.  At a time when activities were restricted across Ireland, this new platform offered direct access to enter locally judged area-run events.  Judges then selected the county qualifiers and national judges then selected the national medal winners.
 
Aldi Community Games showcased all the winning entries on their Facebook page over the weekend reaching an audience of over 200,000 people so far.  In total 130 medals will be sent out to the National winners. Additionally, every child who entered will receive a Digital Certificate by email.
